Holi is Festival of Colours.It is Known as Vasanta Utsav.It is Celebrated all over India.Holi festival is two days festivals.1st day is "Holi Dahan" and 2nd day known is "Dhuleti."Holi is the festival of fun and playing with colours which people throw on each other.Holi is known as the festival of colors, and the colors overcome the barriers of language and convey true feelings. Holi Festival is Coming on Full-moon night According to Hindu Gujarati month Falgun and English Calander March month.Holi festival is Hindu Festival.Holi Fire is lit on Full-moon night(Falgun Purnima).According to mythology, the festival is celebrates the killing Holika, the sister of Hrinyakashyapu.Holi is celebrated as the victory of Prahlada over Holika.on the day of holi ,a big fire is lighted the evening.People worship the fire with flowers and coconuts.Some people observe a fast off that day.They brake theor fast only after the darshan of the holi fire.The Day after holi is celebrated as "Dhuleti".It is a festival of colours.This day people play with colours.people sprinkle Gulal,colours and coloured water on  one another.Brightly coloured powders are applied on faces, and there is plenty of music, dance and sweets.Water balloons, dry colours, and washable dyes are used to douse just about anyone in sight on the roads on the day of Holi. The vibrant use of colours symbolises the advent of a colourful and prosperous spring season.There is merriment every where.They dance and sing to the beat of the drums.People make differents types of Recipes and distributes each others.Ritual is said to be based on the above story of Krishna and Radha as well as on Krishna's playful splashing of the maids with water, but most of all it celebrates the coming of spring with all its beautiful colors and vibrant life.Holi festival celebrated whole imdian stats different types.People have lot of fun this day.

Holi Festival History

Holi is the day of victory of good over evil.As the story goes ,Prahalada worshipped Lord Vishnu.His father Hiranyakashyapu did not like thet.He ordeded Prahalada to stop worshipping Lord Vishnu.but the Prahalada did not obey.Getting angry with his son, Hiranyakashipu challenged Prahlad to sit on a pyre with his wicked aunt Holika who was believed to be immune to fire.Prahlad accepted the challenge and prayed to Vishnu to keep him safe. When the fire started, everyone watched in amazement as Holika was burnt to death, while Prahlad survived without a scar to show for it. The burning of Holika is celebrated as Holi. According to some accounts, Holika begged Prahlad for forgiveness before her demise, and he decreed that she would be remembered every year at Holi.
The festival is also believed to be a celebration of Radha's undying love for Lord Krishna. Still another mythological tale states that when Lord Shiva destroyed Kamadeva, he later resurrected him for the sake of his wife Rati. However, Kamadeva was brought to life only as a mental image. The festival is believed to celebrate that event.
Other legend of the holi in the Southern Indian regions is the legend of Lord Shiva and Kaamadeva. People celebrate holi festival to commemorate the sacrifices of Lord Kaamadeva for revoking Lord Shiva during his meditation in order to save the world.

Cultural Significance 
The cultural significance of Holi can be gauged from the fact that its origin derives reference from various mythological tales. This has led to a deep faith and respect towards the celebration of the festival, as Indians strongly believe in mythology. The moral behind all these stories is victory of good over evil, which is a lesson for the human race. The tales instill the faith of man into the ultimate power of God and his mercy over his devotees. Holi festival is the medium through which people are inspired to lead a virtuous life. Moreover, the festival is organized at the time when the harvest is at full bloom, giving people an opportunity to rejoice. 

Social Significance
Significance of HoliHoli helps to bring the society together and strengthen the secular fabric of our country. For, the festival is celebrated by non-Hindus also as everybody like to be a part of such a colouful and joyous festival.
Also, the tradition of the Holi is that even the enemies turn friends on Holi and forget any feeling of hardship that may be present. Besides, on this day people do not differentiate between the rich and poor and everybody celebrate the festival together with a spirit of bonhomie and brotherhood.
In the evening people visit friends and relatives and exchange gifts, sweets and greetings. This helps in revatalising relationships and strengthening emotional bonds between people. 

Biological Significance
Holi festival has its own scientifically approved biological significance. It has lots of beneficial effects on our body and mind as it brings lots of joy and fun. The time of holi celebration is estimated to be scientifically accurate.
It is celebrated at the end of the winter season and start of the summer season when people feels lazy and tired naturally. So, during this time holi brings lots of activities and joy to counteract the tardiness of the body. It rejuvenates the body by playing colors, eating delicious recipes and take blessings from the elders of the family.
At the festival of holi, there is a tradition of Holika Dahan. Scientifically it is to make the atmosphere safe and clean as winter and spring season provides the required environment for the growth of bacteria. Holika Dahan process at various places in the society all over the country increases the environment temperature by 145 degree Fahrenheit which kills the bacteria and other harmful insects.
At the same time people make round of the Holika known as the Parikrama which helps in killing the bacteria on their body. After completely burning of the Holika, people used of applying the ash (also called as Vibhuti) on the forehead by mixing with the sandal paste or new mango leaves which helps in promoting their health.
Playing colors at this event also has its own benefits and significance. It enhances the health of the body and mind.
